I don't know if it's necessary to mention, but "Welcome" is called "Velkommen" in Denmark. I don't know if the "Welcome" messages on the frontpage are permanent, or if there's only space for a fixed amount. But if it stood to me, the message should be in as many languages as possible. So above you've got the message in danish.

In the right box, after Development, there is a string "test" that should probably be deleted.

Wiki main page now protected

The main page of the Wiki has been set to "protected mode", meaning only Wiki admins may edit it. Please discuss changes to the main page here. We would also like to redesign the main page to make it easier to find certain pages, so any ideas are welcome.

I'm gonna try to recreate the mainpage, feel free to help: Main Page Draft

To Proy: nice job, I like it. I would however prefer to have the top three boxes (with the non-wiki links) at the bottom of the page, so there is more focus on the Wiki links. Especially for people with small monitors and low resolutions (remember your 15" screen? ;-) --Geoff 13:15, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I implemented the changes, when you are satisfied, we could make this public.. I don't think I've anything more to add for now :) I'm quite satisfied as well...

For the admins: "Welcome!" is "환?합니다!" in Korean.

moutarjim45 For the admins: "Welcome!" is "مرحبا بكم" in Arabic بالعربي.

There is no talk page for categories, so I'll write it here.

The "Category" function is used quite extensively at Wikipedia now, and I thought I might try it here as well, starting with "Alphabets". Saaropean already added some more alphabets to the category, so it seems he also likes the idea. Does anybody else have any pros or contras to offer? Which other categories could we add? "Languages" would be one possibility, instead of the current list, "Conlangs", "Translation collections", actually almost anywhere where we now already have pages with a list of certain items. I am not sure if this would make navigating the wiki any easier, or only in certain cases, but it would save us from setting certain backlinks each time, e.g. the ">> Languages >> German". On the other hand, in the "Languages" case, the category listing wouldn't allow us to add the "content rating stars" or flags. I'd be interested in hearing some opinions.

Specific to the alphabet category: sometimes the pages are dealt with as "pronunciation guides", sometimes as "writing systems" - while both are rather overlapping it would good to unify them or create certain standards for either, especially if we decide to use categories. Should we separate them, split them or decide depeding on the peculiarities of the language in question? --Geoff 16:31, 18 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I'd like to know what laguage is "Dobro Doshli!". If you meant Serbocroatian, then you surely must put Dobro Došli! ;-) -- : Boogie 15:00, 27 Jan 2005 (CET)
At the risk of robbing a mysterious language of its greeting I changed it. All complaints to Boogie please ;-) --Geoff

Translation

IMHO article "Translation:" are stupid because this is duplicate of Wiktionaries (http://en.wiktionary.org). Pietras1988 TALK 14:16, 18 May 2007 (CEST)
