Are you sure you used SAMPA?
I don't know about Indonesian pronunciation, but the SAMPA symbols you gave don't always match the English examples:
- [@] is like the O in "action" (schwa). The U in "sun" is [V].
- [e] doesn't exist in English. The E in "egg" is [E].
- [a] doesn't exist in English. The O in "fox" depends strongly on the dialect.
- [@i] doesn't exist in English. The I in "kite" is [aI].
- [{u] doesn't exist in English. [{] is like the A in "hat". The OU in "house" is [aU].
- [oi] doesn't exist in English. The OY in "boy" is [OI].
- The Spanish Ñ as in "cañon" (canyon) is [L]. The symbol ~ is used to indicate vowel nasality in SAMPA.
- Do you think many people pronounce "Genghis Khan" with [x]?
Besides, The English word for vokal is "vowel".
