Swedish consonant stems

Swedish is an inflecting language, meaning that words with the same consonants can change meaning by changing one or more vowels, this is quite common in all Germanic languages (sometimes you can compare with the English translations). This is even more frequent in Arabic. Here are some examples:
• GR + vowel + front consonant (F/T/V/P/D) = make hole, carve, dig...
GRaV = grave
GRiFT = older word for grave
GRäVa = to dig
GRuVa = mine
GRoP = pit
GRöPa = to carve
GRäFTa = dialectal word for hatchet
GRyT = burrow
GRyTa = pot (I guess that the earliest pots were simply a hole in the ground)
GRo = to germinate (something put in the earth – cf. english GRoW)
GRöDa = crop
• (D)R + vowel + N = to flow, to move... This stem is an old Indo-European one, the names of the rivers Rhen and Rhône simply means "(the) flow".
RäNNa = to run
RäNNa = groove (in which something flows)
RiNNa = to flow
RaNN = flowed
RuNNit = has flown
RegN = rain
DRicka = to drink (older Swedish form = DRiNka)
DRäNka = to drown someone
DRuNkna = to drown

VåT = wet
