Russian: how to tell the time

From UniLang Wiki

There are two common ways to ask for the time in Russian:

Который час? - Which hour?
Сколько (сейчас) времени? How many (now) time (slightly less formal)

To answer properly you have to know how Russian numbers are inflected.

Here are some example answers:

Cейчас...

(ровно) три часа. (exactly) three o'clock
десять минут четвертого (три часа десять минут). ten past three
четверть четвертого (пятнадцать минут четвертого). a quarter past three
половина четвертого. half past three
без четверти четыре (без пятнадцати четыре). a quarter to four
без пяти (минут) четыре. five minutes to four
полдень. it's noon
полночь. it's midnight
