Case

Four cases are distinguished in Bol'enty:

  • Nominative for the subject of a sentence
  • Genitive for possessions
  • Dative for indirect objects, beneficiaries, recipients etc.
  • Accusative for direct objects


Gender

Every noun is either feminine, masculine or neuter, depending on its ending:

  • Feminine nouns end in a or a palatalized consonant.
  • Masculine nouns end in i or a non-palatalized consonant.
  • Neuter nouns end in e or u.


Number

Bol'enty distinguished singular and plural.
