I sorta got my timetable today. All I know is:

Monday: 10-16
Tuesday: 9-16
Wednesday: 9-16
Thursday: 9-16
Friday: Self-directed study/day off

Within that there will be different things happening, but noone knows what, as it is likely to be different every day. That is also the bare minimum, chances are that once a project is started I could be spending many more hours than that on campus working.

A month has passed since my semester started and my timetable looks a bit different since I had to make several acrobatic changes to make it fit. And I'm still not sure it's definite. :para:

I also have a new subject - I have begun learning the Serbian Sign Language. :D
Language foci: Swedish, Slovenian, Serbian Sign Language

So far we've learned the alphabet(s), numbers, greeting, some verbs.

It's not a classic language course, though, it's related to field linguistics. Our task is is to discover the grammatical structure of the language. We have an informant a we ask her how to say things (sentences) in the sign language. But in the process we are also learning the sign language itself. :D

Later on I might start going to a more intensive course. It really seems interesting. :)

Wow, that'd be a ton of fun! I've always wanted to do something like that, especially after reading Don't Sleep, There Are Snakes by Daniel Everett. :)

Oh, that's incredibly cool. It's my personal belief (well, maybe I stole it from a few articles in linguistic journals  ) that you can't properly understand linguistics until after learning how grammar works in true sign language. It's so...different. :D I don't know anything about Serbian sign, but sign language is pretty universally awesome, so I'm not concerned. :D
