English I believe I can sing now by schnaz on 2010-03-01, 7:14
Never before in my life did I think that I could sing. I knew I could not sing, until this past week when I was with my girl friend's little grandchildren. When I'm with them we get pretty loose and in the midst of our merriment I burst into song and I thought:" Wow that wasn't half bad." So today is Sunday and we are pretty relaxed and the same thing happened. I conclude that all the practice I've been doing trying to speak Chinese particularly the 2nd and 4th tones { I practice out loud as much as I can] has built up the muscles in my throat and now when I try to sing I sound good to me. I'm happy. :D

English grrr... by schnaz on 2010-02-08, 17:14
Hello all,
I am frustrated . I am not frustrated. I just spent the best part of my morning loading sentences I had downloaded from ting [google it and it's the first one]into media monkey [free -which I just got] I had chosen 5 sentences which I wanted to to put into a playlist and then transfer them to my mp3 player. And then I was going to listen to those 5 sentences all day. I mean etch them into my memory. Well whatever I did wrong ... it's not going to happen today. Yes, I do ask myself why do I get so excited about this.I'm mean yes I was excited !!! I was salivating at the thought of adding these 5 sentences to my meagre repetwah Here are a few thoughts about why. When I was in high school [1960 - 1964] the thought of a language -lab [ a place where you actually hear the language you were trying to learn had not yet appeared][Why you were first introduced to a foreign language in adolescence rather than as soon as possible is another factor which would tend to result...

English Finnish (Suomi) TAC Finnish 1 by Jayan on 2009-12-31, 19:48
I did the introductory chapter of Hyvin menee! today. I love Finnish! Even naming the letters of the alphabet is beautiful! :D

Notes on “Johdantokappale”

  • Learned to pronounce Finnish words properly. Fortunately, it has a regular pronunciation, because I don’t have much audio with my resources (just radio).
  • Learned to spell words with the Finnish letter names. Not a very large adjustment.
  • Learned to count in Finnish. Anticipate a little more trouble gaining facility with numbers because of a non-Indo-European root, but that will be true of everything in Finnish.
  • Learned the -toista suffix for numbers 1-9 to form the teens.
  • Learned the -kymmentä suffix for numbers 2-9 to form the ‘-ty’s’.
  • ...
  • [/list]

English Language on writing by Anonymous on 2009-10-22, 9:10
When we write something on a piece of paper it convey a message. Our language is something to do with our communication, it also has something to do with our writing capabilities. In order to communicate people need to learn the basic language and the basic things to speak and write our language. Every country has their native tongue and every native people knows how to speak it, otherwise they cannot understand what they are saying or what they want to speak out. As a writer every write ups they do, have the message they want to convey on every topic they are engaged to do so, like custom essay, short stories or even blog. That most people now a days do as part of their routines and tell everything they want to tell to the world.

Language has different paces, it has short ones, a long usage of words and synonymous to every word it has. But all of that are very important to every people.
