Toki Pona 토키 포나

Permanent Linkby Senyani on Sun 2009-09-20, 23:07

Idk exactly what I'm doing but here we go:

Toki Pona 토키 포나

Vowels:

a e i o u 아 어 이 오 우

Consonants:

j k l m n p s t w ㅈㅋㄹㅁㄴㅍㅅㅌ

Now I know you're wondering where did the 'w' go? Well since there's no single 'w' in Korean I'll just do it like this:

wa we wi wo wu: 와 왜 위 외 워

And since the j is pronounced as the English 'y' I guess it would be: 야 얘 의 요 유 on "normal" circumstances. But I guess there could be 2 ways to write words with 'j' in them if you pretend that 'ㅈ' sounds like an English 'y'.

So I guess play time then yes? YAY!

akesi - 아커시
pipi - 피피
waso - 와소
suno - 수노

And a sentence or two:

suno li suli - 수노 리 수리 The sun is big
mi wile pakala e sina! - 미 위러 파카라 어 시나! I must destroy you!
jan li wile jo e ma - 잔 리 위러 조 어 마 or 얀 리 위러 요 어 마 People want to own land

There you go. Please keep in mind that this is just an experiment. If you have any suggestions as to how to perfect this don't hesitate to tell me them.

This was so much fun no? ^^

에 sounds like the e in "pet"
애 sounds like the a in "cat"
어 sounds like the a in "although"

ㅈ does not sound like y, usually it sounds like the j in "jane"

Aaaah!

감사합니다! I knew that there was a mistake in there somewhere! XD For some reason the vowels in Korean are so complex.

What were they thinking when this language came about? But it's always wonderful to learn more about my favorite language and how to correctly adapt it's ultra kawaii writing system to different languages ( if it's possible ).

I appreciate the corrections as I've just learned more about the vowels which for some reason always confused me on one aspect or another.

I need to learn this language so badly. It's my favorite.

화이팅!

Thanks again! *Is keeping this for reference*
