I launched a website two weeks ago (
languagesandnumbers.com) which aim is to learn how to count in as many languages as possible. How to write down numbers, any cardinal numbers, and to translate them in other languages. It started as a programming challenge to handle different numbering systems and scripts, including transliteration whenever possible, and now it's getting more and more interesting as a lot of languages do share the same structure for numbers (say digits are usually specific words, then you have the special cases of numbers from 11 to 19, the tens, how to link tens and units, the hundreds and thousands, the big scale numbers), with from time to time a different way to handle it, like the tens and units order, the big and short scale, the sheer meaning of some numbers.
